BSA Students Hold Al-Hayawan al-Nathiq Drama Performance in Theater Room

HUMANIORITY – (12/18/2024) 7th semester students of the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program (BSA) of the Faculty of Humanities successfully held a drama performance entitled Al-Hayawan al-Nathiq on Tuesday night, in the theater room. This event attracted the attention of hundreds of spectators who filled the room, ranging from fellow students to lecturers and the general public.

This performance is the result of creative work by students who are currently taking the Fan al-Mahsrohiyah course. This course aims to introduce theater arts in the context of Arabic and provide students with direct experience in applying language skills and stage arts.

According to the committee, the theme of the drama Al-Hayawan al-Nathiq was chosen to convey a moral message that is relevant to modern life. The story, which is packaged with Arabic dialogue, shows how Arabic is not only a means of communication, but also a medium for artistic expression.

In addition, this performance is also part of project-based learning (PBL). This approach provides a deeper learning experience for students through a creative process, starting from story planning, script writing, to performing the performance. “We learned a lot from this process, not only about theater, but also how to work in a team,” said one of the participating students.

The lecturer in charge of the course, Ghufron Hambali, M.Pd., appreciated the students’ hard work in preparing this performance. “This performance shows that project-based learning can improve students’ skills in various aspects, both academic and non-academic. This is proof that theater arts can be an effective learning medium,” he said.

The Al-Hayawan al-Nathiq performance is not only an event for art appreciation, but also strengthens the image of the BSA Study Program as an innovative study program in developing student talent and creativity. It is hoped that activities like this can continue to provide space for artistic expression and improve the quality of learning at the Faculty of Humanities.

The evening’s activities ended with a group photo session and received warm applause from the audience, which showed high enthusiasm for the work that had been presented. The students hope that this performance will inspire them to continue to work and combine art with science. [aii]
